Privacy
Devotional data stays on your Mac: selected content, favourites, reminder preferences, and session history. Backups are files you choose to export.
Local tools
Notes, scratchpad and file references are stored locally. Shelf keeps references to files you select and does not delete originals. Backups exclude credentials, file-access bookmarks and clipboard history.
Prayer Times asks for location permission when you choose “Use my location.” Coordinates stay on this Mac for local prayer calculations; Apple receives the location to resolve its timezone and region. After you enable it, the app refreshes your location while running and after waking. You can revoke access in macOS Location Services. Notification access is optional and requested only when you choose it. App-usage tracking and clipboard history are separately opt-in. Clipboard payloads are encrypted locally, with seven-day / 200-entry default retention.
Calendar uses system permissions. Direct Stripe and DataFast reports use keys stored in your Mac’s Keychain and contact those providers directly. Advanced hosted connections store encrypted credentials on the service. City search uses Apple Maps. Weather sends approximate coordinates to MET Norway, which also receives your IP address; forecasts are cached locally. Claude metrics are received through an authenticated local listener; prompts, source code, logs and traces are excluded.
Optional Mac integrations
System Monitor readings stay on your Mac. Background history and notifications are off until enabled. Its optional read-only helper adds supported hardware readings; availability varies by Mac. App Volume needs macOS 14.2 or later and audio permission. It routes audio locally and never records or transmits it.
The AI companion reads usage limits and recent task metadata from your signed-in Codex CLI, and supported Claude Code status data. Optional Cursor and Claude hooks report local session events. Approval alerts keep a hashed session identity and tool category, not prompts, commands, arguments or project files. Music controls request Automation access only when connected. Optional volume and brightness overlays require Accessibility access and leave unsupported keys to macOS. AirDrop sends only the files you select through the system sharing window. Integration consent and local executable paths are excluded from exported backups.
Browser playback connects only to the normal tab you choose. It reads media metadata and available controls through Automation and JavaScript from Apple Events; private windows are excluded. Reconnect a tab after restarting. Image conversion uses native macOS tools locally and preserves your original file.
Website analytics
The public home page uses DataFast to measure visits and traffic sources for dhikrbuddy.com. Public product and information pages also use Zijra in aggregate mode, with query strings and URL fragments excluded from page URLs and browser privacy signals respected. Purchase, claim, recovery and licence management pages do not load these analytics scripts. This website measurement does not collect the devotional content or local documents in the Mac app.
Optional feedback
Public information pages include a feedback form provided by FeedbackFlow. When you submit it, your message and contact details are sent to the product owner through that service. It is not loaded on purchase, recovery or licence management pages. Contact details are optional for general feedback and required for refund requests. Launch cashback claims also send your public post link and any impressions screenshot to FeedbackFlow for manual review. Crop out unrelated personal information before uploading.
Purchases and licensing
Hosted Stripe Checkout handles card details. The purchase service stores order identifiers, purchase email, licence status, and random installation identifiers. It does not receive devotional activity or hardware serial numbers.
Transactional email is used for purchase claims and recovery. Licensing and updates may use the network. Sensitive claim and management pages contain no analytics.
